Individual psychotherapy is provided for adults and adolescents who are looking for support for a wide range of issues. There are many approaches to individual counseling, with many different modalities and theoretical orientations that each therapist can use to tailor treatment to each individual. This kind of therapy is often referred to as talk therapy. Adolescents and adults generally have the ability to express their feelings and emotions verbally. Therapists are able to facilitate healthy discussions to examine past, present, and future situations.
Each client will have therapy that is tailored to fit their individual needs, to allow for the best opportunity for self-exploration and growth.
At Roswell Counseling, our therapists strive to create a safe and comfortable space to help clients feel at ease. All of the therapists here want clients to feel emotionally safe, listened to, and understood. Outside of these core needs in therapy, other techniques and therapeutic skills can be utilized to aid the client while they are exploring any issues. Some of these techniques can be thought restructuring, challenging irrational thoughts and beliefs, goal setting, problem solving, art in therapy, anger management skills, coping skills, stress management training, and many others.
